An unmarked bible is no better than an unmarked trail; it shows no sign of when you've been and is no help in returning you home when you discover you are lost.

Re: The Unmarked Bible

Thats a profound quote.

I haven't written in my Bible much, but I keep a pretty decent diary... You're right its easy to forget things and get lost.

Take Care and thanks for blogging

Beth,

Glad you are still around... I missed you around here... though I haven't been writing much either :(.

I am really working on that!

See you back here soon.

Re: The Unmarked Bible

Hey Pastor Josh,

I was checking out the new CCC website and discovered your blog.

Great quote...I used to do most of my Bible reading in an expensive study Bible. But later I picked up one of the paperback Bibles from church so I could carry it around with me in my back pack. I marked it up a lot. Over time, I've learned that, for me, I always like to have a Bible with me...I'll read it as I wait for a doctor's appointment or ride the light rail.

Every couple years or so, I change up my "carry around" Bible...that way I can change how I mark it as I grow and change (and since it's always with me, I also write down important phone numbers and stuff in the front =). And so now I have a whole stack of CCC Bibles on my book shelf.

TW,

That is great that the Word has become such a big part of your daily routine. And I am glad to hear that CCC is able to provide those Bibles for you... Thanks for taking advantage of it.

Keep the Word ever before you!

Re: The Unmarked Bible

I have dates throughout my Bible. (the dates always correspond to journal entries). In a year that totally rocked my world, I found myself looking forward too....getting excited about....waking up knowing that God would meet me. Those dates are stones of rememberance where God carried me throught some difficult days when I wasn't sure if my heart would break.

Just last night, I was going back through giving my faith a booster shot looking at how God has been so faithful in the past.
